ok i just got my 69 c/10 when i got it the power steering pump was in the bed of the truck i went to put in back on and this is what i found does any one no of a way to fix this the 2nd bolt hole is all srewed up to the front of the block for the power steering, thanks

It looks like the PO broke the bolt off and tried to drill it out, but got it cockeyed. Not too sure how easy that will be in truck.

I guess I would clean the holes out and see if there are threads in it. If there are, try screwing a bolt in it and snug it up with a wrench. If the threads feel good, open the hole up in the bracket to match and bolt it up.... If there are no threads in the hole or it isn't drilled deep enough to tap it you can try drilling it deeper and tap it so you can get a bolt in it. I can't see how you could make it any worse.... Be sure and check the depth of the good hole so you dont go through the water jacket if you have to drill the bad one deeper.

It's hard to tell from the pic if the bolt is broke off or full of crud. If the threads are just buggered up, you may be able to carefully retap or chase the threads. If the bolt is broken off, you can attempt to drill a hole in the bolt and remove with an easy-out. Start with a center punch and drill a small pilot hole through the bolt and increase the drill size until you can get the easy-out in. Squirt penetrating oil in the hole and let it work. Word of caution - snap off the drill bit or the easy-out and you're in a fix. More than likely the bolt will be siezed fast and you won't be able to turn it out anyway and probably will have to drill out the rest of the way being sure to stay centered and retap the hole. If you damage the threads beyond saving, you'll have to resort to a heli-coil repair. Good idea to use some loctite afterwards Good luck...

ok the drilled hole goes in as deep as the top bolt. the po i guess could not use a drill becouse it is not round as you can see so i cant tap it i dont no what do to

Just an idea, it should work. Drill it out to the next size up from the stock bolt (even if you need to use a metric size to keep from going to large) tap it out and make the hole on the braket just big enough as well.
