I sold Ol' Red.
Welp, I guess this is pretty much it. Had an old acquaintance through work get word of what I was tryin' to do with the truck, and its exactly what he wanted, a fresh start for a truck. He's got good money and he's gonna do my brother right, spend his time, love, and money and make it good again. He's got a motor lined up, he has a paint and body man, and he has connections for wheels. Granted he's probably not gonna do exactly what I wanted, but its gonna be real nice. He promised to bring it by when its all said and done.
Its sad to him go. Even my old man finally admitted that he'll miss it, since he owned it since 1980 (new). But, its for the better, and I'm happy somebody will take care of it. FYI: I sold my wheels a couple weeks ago. Only parts I have left are a mint 84+ dash bezel, brushed alluminum, and my 1980 plastic grille. (not making this a FS thread, jus' saying what I have left) I'm sure I'll pop back in every now and then. Its been a good ride, everybody. It was well worth my subscription (even though I only used it for a few months). You people are 100% Grade-A fantastic, and I thank you all. Have a good one. Cliff

I'm sad to see it go too, but I suppose there are other priorities in life eh?
I can tell already that he is a Chevy guy -- His other truck is looking pretty sharp too!

That is too bad Cliff, but you have to do what you have to do. You'll get another one day, trust me.

Re: I sold Ol' Red.
Yeah Cliff,
That is a sad pic indeed it's never easy losing an 'ol friend i know it's happened to me twice. You will get another truck and you'll be back and will still be here. You know you can still stay and talk 73-87 trucks with us and help some of the other members out with problems that you may have encountered even if you dont have a truck i dont think theres any rule that states this. Well what ever you do hang in there. Bruce. |
