Having a little trouble sizing up rims on 89 suburban/ 22?
The guy at the tire shop set the rim up on the truck but it did not fit, well it did but he had to use a 1" spacer. The area where it mounts to the spindle would not fit .It was not deep enough, thats why we used the 1" spacer. Dont know if I should keep them and use them with the 1" adapters , or send the back . You guys running your rims with spacers?.
Didn't know if this was the right place to post this, so if its not can a Mod move it. Last edited by BigTruckDriver; 04-30-2007 at 08:26 PM. |

well first off. i wouldnt run a spacer on a rim . but if you must then make sure you have enough threads on your lugs exposed. you dont wanna just have half an inch of threads to work with. i work at discount tire and we cant even work on vehicles with spacers because we are a large company and they say spacers are a liability issue, does it not clear the suspension or are the wheels center bore too small for the hub?.. i would say to get the right wheels for your application

so the hub bore was too small? are the covered or exposed lug? If their covered you can have your rims run on a wheel lathe and have the CB made large. Nissan and yota guys do it all the time to run escalade wheels...
