67 GMC grille
I got a call last night from a friend of mine who found a GMC grille. He said it is strait and has GMC written in the center. I was thinking it was a 67 becuase of the writing. I will try to get a look at it as soon as I can. I just wanted to make sure of the year.
What is the difference between the years of GMC grilles. Also if this is a good as I hope it is and it is a 67, I would possibly like to trade it for a 70 GMC grille. Thanks..

Here is a pic of my 67 grill. Letters are hard to see because I hadnt painted it yet.

1967....as pictured.
1968...same, except without the letters. 1969...same as 68, add chrome top bar, and eyebrow trim on fenders surrounding grill. 1970...exact carry over. 1971...very similar to previouse years, indentation (painted black) in center, makes it look like 2 seperate bright pieces. 1972...exact carry over. |

Looking at ILUVJUNK's truck, what do I need to do to make the 67 grill to work in my 70? I would actually like to go with a 67-68 hood. What trim and or fenders do I need to make it look like a 67 GMC with side marker lights?
This idea is not binding and could change at any moment.

I do not believe 67 had side marker lights! Finally in 68 they had to put them on and it was kinda an after thought. If you notice on stock 68 to 72 GMC and Chevy trucks the marker lights do not really fit flush with the fender.

Fender-wise, I think all 1968-1972 GMC fenders are the same...I don't know exactly what's involved in going to the '67-'68 style from a '69-'72 style.
If you want sleeker looking sidemarkers, by the way, go get some from the dealer for an '80s fullsize van. They fit perfectly, and are a lot smoother looking than the originals...

Thanks Guys. I was trying to find out about trim. I know what years the side markers did and didn't come on, just needed to know the difference in GMC trim. I know that my 70 has eye brows and a top bar, but it looks like the 67 doesn't. This is what I would like my stepside to look like, just with side marker lights.
