U-Joint Question

Can I buy a U-joint that uses 1 1/16" cups on two sides and 1 3/16 on the other two? I have put a 3 speed OD in my long horn and need to use the smaller size yoke on the front of my driveshaft.
Thanks
Don

Re: U-Joint Question

I don't know about that but I had a yoke changed once to a different size and it was easy and cheap IIRC.

yes, I've done that a couple of times with Camaros. Try a local driveline shop or the internet. They definitely make them.

Re: U-Joint Question

Try NAPA. It's been a few years but when I needed one for my Longhorn they matched what I had. Do'nt quote me but I think they called it a "bastard joint". I do remember we couldn't find it in the computer,,,,,guy got out parts books and we found it there.

Re: U-Joint Question

Yeah, you can get them at parts stores. We do it at the Carquest where I work. They're called "Conversion kits" in our books. You just need to know the correct names of what you have or the measurements to do it. The ones I've sold haven't been any higher in price than a normal stock joint.

Re: U-Joint Question

i used to buy mine at NAPA when i was running 3/4 ton axles and a half ton yoke on my t-case. take your old u-joint and the new yoke and it shouldn't be a big deal.

Re: U-Joint Question

Called a conversion joint---they are available at the local napa store. What you want is the 1310/1350 combo
