Does anyone have pictures of a brake booster/master cylinder that is frame mounted? or does anyone know of someone that sells some sort of kit for this.

Re: frame mounted brake booster master cylinder

I was gonna try to run this, but I am not sure if I can fit my 2" exhaust between this and the tranny? Any thoughts? I would love to do this and completely shave the firewall, but not if I have to sacrifice my exhaust...........................Bamm!

Re: frame mounted brake booster master cylinder

Keep in mind that alot of those under floor units are designed for the old 30s thru 50s cars/trucks..and a lot of them had panels that you could remove on the floor to get access to the brake stuff...how are you gonna check and fill your fluids?

I would look for the units that have the remote reservoir...

Re: frame mounted brake booster master cylinder

I just figured I would do it the same way, Fab a small door to access it. If I could figure out a way to route the exhaust that wouldn't run it right beside the booster/master cylinder, i wouldn't hesitate to do this. Any idea's? ..........................Bamm!

Re: frame mounted brake booster master cylinder

i dont see that there'd be a problem with running one guys with model a's and t's as well as 30's-40's cars have been running them for 75years or so with dual exhausts and those frames are a heck of alot narrower than the 67-72chevy trucks as far as access there's hundreds of different premade trapdoors available in steel stainless steel aluminum weld in screw in rivit in and glue in// about the only extra thing you need in these underfloor systems are the residual valves// speedway motors is a great source for this type of brake equipment and thier catalogue has good illustrations and explanations of whats required

Re: frame mounted brake booster master cylinder

Here's a pic I've had of one that was started, but as you can see there is no exhaust run yet.

Re: frame mounted brake booster master cylinder

If you were to run a 2" exhaust in between the brake booster/MC setup and the transmission, do you think that would be too much heat around the brakes?

Re: frame mounted brake booster master cylinder

You could put the exhaust outside the frame if you're running manifolds.

Re: frame mounted brake booster master cylinder

you could make up a heat shield from state of the art place like www.thermotec.com // a friend of mine built a car with an 800+hp nascar cup engine and had no problems with heat issues
