Cardboard glovebox removal-
Has anyone ever perfected a technique to remove the cardboard glove compartment with destroying it? I have to replace the antennae on my truck, and to do it I have to take that out.

Re: Cardboard glovebox removal-
I have not perfected the technique, but I just CAREFULLY remove from the hole it goes in. Easiest way without removing stuff.

Re: Cardboard glovebox removal-
Question says "with" destroying it. I think a lot of us have perfected that ...

Re: Cardboard glovebox removal-
Yesterday I decided to install the radio my son gave me in my '71 C-10, I soon realized the cardbooard glove compartment needed to be removed.
It appeared to be original and pretty fragile so when I tried to remove it, it just more or less fell apart. The radio installation went ok, but now I need to pickup a new cardboard glove compartment. Danny - SEMO |

Re: Cardboard glovebox removal-
I have done it in my green and white about 3 or 4 times. All I can say is slowly and a lot of patience and even then I damaged one flap. You can get it out about 4 times if you are carefull before having to replace it. I firtst remove the glove bog door and stop. Then I take out the remaining screws that hold in the liner. Then I carefully wiggle and pry it out. To me these things are like head gaskets, I sware they are designed to be installed once. Good luck.

Re: Cardboard glovebox removal-
Nice workmanship! Without the "wiggleroom" the cardboard origional provides, how can it be installed? I've thought about doing the same; but in wood...mine would be less flexable unless installed in sections.

Re: Cardboard glovebox removal-
It fits thru the front opening but I need a test truck to see if it fits with the heaterbox behind it
