longtubes?

so, in my quest to continually work on and upgrade the truck, i'm trying to decide if i should swap out my hedman elite shortie headers with a set of the same in long tubes.

reason i went with shorties in the first place is because my old long tubes scraped on the 305 and i wanted new headers for the new engine. since this is no longer my daily driver, i'm not as concerned about scraping on stuff with them, though i WILL be at a 5/7 drop finally when they are installed. i would love to get all the power out of the engine that i can, so thats all that really matters

any thoughts on if i should switch over or not?


also, i would also be redoing my exhaust setup with either a doublehump crossmember or an aftermarket tubular member and was thinking about swapping the magnaflows i have for a set of flowmaster super 44's. i've heard they sound awesome and since its not a daily driver i'm not worried about it being insanely loud like it was with the 40 series flows i had on after the engine swap.

They are going to drag. Go with mid length if you really want more header.

lot of guys run what's called chevelle mid length.in my opinion i don't know that the horsepower gain from shorty to full length is going to be big enough to feel the difference.you may want to research to see if it is.just a thought on saving a few bucks by reusing your existing headers if there still good.i love my hedman ceramic shorties.and 2 1/2 inch true dual into flowmaster originals no smog crap.it's a good setup.here's a link i saved on the shorty vs long debate by sporttruck mag

yeah, mine right now are the hedman elite chevelle shortie headers.

edit: ha, very fitting link you posted. i have that same sysmaxII setup minus a different cam
