Has anyone here ever had a BAD case of buyers remorse? I just recently sold my 72 Cheyenne for 4500. Didnt want to use it as a "TRUCK". I needed a truck for the dump runs, yard work and what not. So I was surfin the recycler ads, and found a 1970 FURD Ranger F250( I know, I KNOW!) with a Lance slide in camper for 3400. So I talked the guy down to 2800. Had a fresh engine,new tires and ran *****in. So I went to pick it up today( I have already paid for it), and realized I screwed up B A D!!! Not only the furd part, but when I got it home, I found shoddy body work, and a mess of fricken wires that went to nothing. When I removed the camper, the floor wood was rotten. What an IDIOT!! BTW I do like the 67-72 CHEVY and FORD trucks, they are my favorite of all truck styles. So now I am thinking about trying to get atleast 'some' of my money back-I cant believe I did this!!!

man sorry to hear about this..if you lived closer i would be interested in the camper if its a big one...oh well hope you get it straightened out

ummmmm, at least you didn't pay $3,400,.. maybe you can sell the camper for $ 2,500.. then trade the truck for one you really want , what ever kind that is...!
But sorry to hear your dilemma,, Custom Classics Truck magazine has an article on Buyers Remorse in the July issue,,

I think the floor of the camper is shot.Sight unseen can get you bad when the seller takes advantage of that.I`ve had buyers remorse after buying something really nice and everything I could have wanted.It just hits you sometimes.

If the campers that bad maybe you can sell it to someone as a fixer upper & recoup some of your money & then just sell the truck.

You have the whole camping season ahead of you and campers are hot items! Do clean good detail on the camper (or both) and get it listed on Craig’s List or the local paper. No problem! You’ll make some money on this deal.
There’s already one person here that’s looking for a camper…1 in 6 aren’t bad odds!

I thought about it abit last night and thats what I am going to do. I looked at the floor some more this morning and what I was seeing as "ROT" was an undercoating flaking off. Inside, the camper is pretty nice. Then I found the build date-07/1975! WOW- a relic! Anyhow, I am just going to a good cleaning and put it up for sale. I imagine I am going to lose on this deal. Hell, last night I was ready to take 2000 for what I just paid 2800 for! I still might!
The truck really isnt that bad,the body is solid. But there 'were' some dents that the "bodyman" didnt even try to work out-just bondo! And it has a rebuilt bigblock and auto trans in it.It runs great.
I read that article in CT BEFORE i bought it!! HELLO!? ANYBODY HOME!???? The lights are on but noones home!
Oh well,live and learn I guess.

well if you have no need for the camper sell to get back some money/ then you just need to tidy up the wires which isnt unusual for a 35year old vehicle and if it runs good and is reliable why not just use it as a beater parts hauler with a for sale sign in the window. doesnt seem like a bad deal to me compared to what i've seen rusted out torn apart aborted project trucks (67-72chevys) asking prices on the east coast// you never know maybe after drivin it a bit you'll find that you did get a really good deal after all

it don't sound to bad to me at all other than the ford part you got a solid body and a fresh big block and tranny and a camper to boot shurly you wern't expecting a new truck for that money. it's hard to tell with out pics but it sounds to me like you done alright although i'm sure i'd of rather had a chyanne to nice to use

You could double your money easily if you know anyone in the rust belt that could sell that for you. The 67 - 72 ford trucks are some of the best looking fortds ever built, but they rusted out up here after going through a mud puddle or two.
Drive the sucker for a while, make your decision with your mind, not your heart. You didn't want to use your nice chevy as a truck, but now you're complaining that the ford isn't perfect... if it was, you wouldn't want to use it for a truck either.
If you make a rash decision, then you'll lose money on it. If you stop, and think for more than a day, then you may end up with a truck you like... or, at least with extra money in your pocket.
Sellingthe camper and truck seperate is almost a sure fuire way to make more money off the deal.

Yeah, I think I might just drive it for a while. I think these are the best looking Ford trucks also. Thanks guys. I am going to be helping a friend of mine with a 1963 Chevy II for the drags, and doin my BBQ. Here is a pic of the truck with the camper on it.

Regardless of the rust, thats one of the cleaner f250's I've seen, even in CA! Stick a sheet of plywood in the bed and drive it. I like this body style of Fords too, and this is a nice example of one.
