i DONT BELIEVE ANY 68 ENGINES WERE LISTED AS AN HO EXCEPT FOR THE #62 HEADED 428? IN 69 FIREBIRDS CAME WITH #48'S ON 350'S AND 400'S AS LONG ITS ORIGIONAL 4 BBL ENGINE IT HAS GOOD HEADS FOR A 69 FIREBIRD!

Heres a short list of some of the casting numbers for pontiac heads. Pontiac Heads

I will let you guys know what my cars does at the track if I have a better year next year. Tried 3 times this year.
1-Got rained out
2-Broke ($$)
3-Coudnt get NOS bottle filled in time and it cost me $40 to get my empty bottle back. Long story. I have yet to use the NOS, hopefully it will work next year.

Everyone has told me to stop with the 350. I what to make it go low 13s or high 12s then I build my 400 stroker motor(Im dreaming). So far it has held its own. 68 GMC SWB with a 383 and TH350, 68 Lemans 455/TH400 both lost to me. I got them all off the line. HAHAHA

Pontiac blocks had a higher nickel content than Chevy blocks. Not as high as Caddys, but they will last a lot longer between rebuilds than the Chevy.

I'm a lover of Pontiacs, old and new. Only one I ever owned is now the kids schoo car, 93 Bonneville with 180,000 miles. Still a good runner, but is now using some oil, one quart every 1,500 miles. Was ready to buy a newer one with a supercharger, but my wife had her work hours cut in half. Bought a 69 pickup instead. Hoping that I can afford the new GTO when it comes out.

Does it count if you own a new pontiac? I love all the old ones too, but I decided to buy a 2001 Ram Air Trans Am.
It's a real fun car and ran 12.49 @110 with just a stall converter. I plan on holding onto it until its a collector.

RED72 --

I've got a GTO as well (as you can see in my sig). A 1969, I'll be the third owner. My mom has had it since 1969 (got it from another guy same year). It's got the 400, 4 speed. It's pretty bare bones other than that and like power steering and brakes. I want to get a Ram Air setup for it too. But I really want a '67 also.

I've already started in on a new engine for the truck, but now all the girls are saying the GTO would be a better car for pickin up the chicks. Now I'm in a jam. lol

I'm also 19 by the way.

Hi, I've had a few pontiacs; '61 catalina 2drht, '64 GTO, '65 Lemans 2drht, '70 Grand Prix, and '81 Grand Lemans. I really love these cars, my family has always had good luck with Pontiacs. My favoured motor was the little 326, now that was a kick butt motor. I don't know how many times I saw my mom lite the tires with her '65 Lemans with the 326. Have a good one, Tom.

My current truck is the first 67-72 I've owned but I've always liked them. Had a few Pontiacs in the past. Chevy trucks and Pontiacs, great combo. Here's a few of the Pontiacs I've owned worth mentioning.

64 GTO
65 LEMANS
65 GTO (389 Tri-Power 4spd)
68 FIREBIRD (Ram Air 400 w/ Hood Tach - best time in the 1/4 12.47@112 daily driver)
87 FIREBIRD
