Seats In A 48-54
Just like the title, what aftermarket or junk yard seat and from which vehicle would fit best or pretty good in my 48-54. Would prefer Bench?
thanks |

Re: Seats In A 48-54
Tim, I probably can't help you much but we got a set of sets out of a Explorer, but I am not sure how they are going to fit. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can give them a test fit. The only reason we got them is they were from a friend that was wanting to get rid of them. But they are buckets and I am thinking they are too tall and will stick up in the window... hope this helps.

Re: Seats In A 48-54
Why do you not want to use the stock bench seat?

Re: Seats In A 48-54
I cut 6" out the middle of a 67-72 bench and it fits perfect

Re: Seats In A 48-54
I used the seats out of a late model Chevy pickup (98 and up) and a center console out of a dodge dakota.

Re: Seats In A 48-54
Daniel U - I have been looking at the Glide Engineering seat. Did you use a stock floor pan? Did you make the brackets? I need to replace the floor pan and wanted to use *****in' stuff, but don't know how the 'glide seat will work with a flat floor pan. Thanks.

Re: Seats In A 48-54
Paul pulled the factory seat foundation (ground off the spotwelds)and built custom brakets that allow for a comfortable angle for long cruises. If you choose "glide" you 'll have to build/buy your own brakets. Then you can replace your floors without any worries.

Re: Seats In A 48-54
I used a bench out of a Dodge Dakota -- It fits the width of the truck very well. Look at the pics under " My 48 I just finished" - Bob
