Try this link
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a.../t-191143.html It was in the FAQ's.If it doesn't tell you what you need the names are there of someone who did it,and there may be more in the FAQ's section. No cutting and welding needed.

Re: shortend steering colum
leg room won't be increased..the floor will still be there, but it increases gut room for the guys that are too short for there weight, and others (like myself) just can't stand the steering wheel so friggen close... IMO, it was VERY uncomfortable that way.

Re: shortend steering colum
Will this only work with automatics and 4 speed, or can this also be performed on a 3 speed manual column?

Re: shortend steering colum
Just knock the the two pins out and shrink it down but don't go to far because the space between the bottom of your steering gets closer to your seat. It's a big deal if your using a 17" wheel with armstrong steering. I shorten mine by 1 5/8 of an inch and love it.

Re: shortend steering colum
thanks guys. even though im only 5 ft 8 it seems like im cramped to the wheel with the seat as far back as it will go. i want to put in buckets and be able to move seat forward some and lean the seat back. looks pretty strait forward.
