MORE Transmission Leak help
been having problems w/ a leaky TH350. Leak from the front passenger side corner of pan. Replaced dipstick seal last weekend, pan gasket and new pan tonight. Still steady drip leak. Started feeling around real good under the detent cable and there is a f'n hole there.
 What is this, why is there no screw there (PO swapped the tranny) and can I just put a bolt in the stop the leak? |

I don't think that is where it is coming from. Looks like it is coming from the detent cable seal, or possibly the cable itself. Where the plastic sheath of the cable crimps into the metal end is known to leak also. Where the little mounting plate is brazed on the end could be cracked too.

OK I'll get that seal replaced also. Pan was definitely leaking before, I guess fixing that is driving the leaks uphill

i think id plug the holes anyway, keep dirt from getting inside the tranny
