yes you can, but you need a vacuum advance distributor, and you'll have issues with the electric fuel pump (or pumps) that are in the tank because they run higher pressure that a mechanical pump....i just got rid of a truck that the p.o. had done that too....

Hey guys i dont think he talking about doing it to an '87 truck i think he wants to put a '87 engine into an older truck but convert it from FI to a CARB.
If so you can do it but ya may want to change to cam and run something that will match up closer to the carb and intake combo cuz the FI cam is not gonna produce alot of vacuum. And you can run a electronic distributor as well or any other type you want. |
