Re: Painting valve covers

Anyone?? I have them powder coated now and a friend wants to put “true flames” on them. You have to see his work! Anyway I’m not sure how well they will hold up? Anyone done something like this?

Re: Painting valve covers

I asked a question about what paint to use in the paint forum and was told its ok to use a bc/cc paint.. so you should be able to do whatever you want. I decided for the sake of time to use some high temp gloss black and baked them in the oven. Can he rattle can the high temp and do his flames ? Anyway the factory and others put stickers on the valve covers if those can hold up for 20 years I dont see why and automotive paint wont.. Id love to see some pics of the valve covers when you get them done.. good luck

No need to rattle can them, they are powder coated gloss black, he’ll scuff them paint then clear over the whole thing.
