Re: Will a diesel radiator work
If I remember right, when my father did the diesel gas swap to his early 80's C10 they left the diesel radiator right there. Only thing they swapped was the motor. As long as the top and bottom hoses are on the right sides you should be good to go.

Re: Will a diesel radiator work
My 77 has a 454 with a 4 core radiator. In you case, I would assume the only major difference would be the fan shroud.

Re: Will a diesel radiator work
I would think that running a 454 you would want the biggest radiator you could get in there as long as you can get hoses to work with it

Re: Will a diesel radiator work
my truck was a diesel.i replaced original 4 row with a new diesel 4 row.i'm running a late 350 crate.only thing i had to change was the tranny cooler lines came in on the opposite side.it doesn't overheat with that momba in there.in fact i almost worry about the opposite.......getting hot enough.works good with the vintage a/c i added too.

Re: Will a diesel radiator work
You will need the upper mount, shroud, thermostat housing & upper hose for a '89 R/V 30 series with a 454. They used the diesel radiator. I'm sure other years did also, but '89 did for sure. & yep, trans cooler is on the driver's side. Engine oil cooler on the passenger side.

Re: Will a diesel radiator work
It should work fine.........Make sure you FLUSH the diesel radiator VERY well incase there were additives used in the coolant.
