Chevy big block motor mount question

The Frame mounts have an oversized opening, I need to know if a grommet is needed to bolt up to the motor mounts? the 72 truck came with a small block but changing over to a big block.

Do you have the 68-72 big block eng mount brackets with the big hole? If so they use a different mounts with a rubber pad on both sides of the frame stand.

Re: Chevy big block motor mount question

That's correct, the 72 big block frame mounts with the 1 1/4 inch opening. Where would I find those motor mounts?

Re: Chevy big block motor mount question

meant to say 68-71. the 72 mounts are like the 73 and newer. I think some of the board vendors will have them, but prepare for sticker shock. There is a FAQ article on Using different big block mounts.

Re: Chevy big block motor mount question

You can make 1/4" thick square washers and grade 8 bolts and it can work that way also.
