"BIG Blazer"...Coming Soon!
Blazer Nation,
Here are some photos of my Blazer being lifted at the shop. I'll send you better ones when it's all done and cleaned up. Question: Do i need to do any drive shafts modifications (rear and front) after putting 6" Skyjacker. 1" body lift and 37" Boggers? Please advise. |

Re: "BIG Blazer"...Coming Soon!
Any pics of it off the lift?
With the weight of the truck on the springs? This being built for pounding pavement or trails? Looks wicked BTW. |

Re: "BIG Blazer"...Coming Soon!
Front driveshaft might need to be lengthened. Does it have a CV joint already? Rear shaft will likely be okay. I had to lengthen my front driveshaft on my 69 K20 when I did my initial 4" lift but it didn't have a CV joint and uses a Rockwell transfer case so a different setup then you have. I had to add a CV joint btw.
Great looking K5!

Re: "BIG Blazer"...Coming Soon!
For some reason i like to call my Blazer a he instead of a she if that's OK with you all? A He is much meaner than a she! (But a She can very mean sometime...if you know what i mean!)
I will mainly use it for street driving...San Diego beaches. Pictures were taken when it was fully on ground. I'll send more soon. I'm not sure about gears...they are original (Dana 20 with Dana 44 Front and Rear) More updates to follow...thank you for the replies. |

Re: "BIG Blazer"...Coming Soon!
Most likely you are running either 3.73s or 3.07s. Either way, your going to see a huge drop in performance and gas mileage with those gears and 37's. You probably need at least 4.10s to pull those meats somewhat efficiently.
Its probably enough lift for your purposes, but I'd take the corners slow at first so one of those knobies doesn't destroy your front fenders. They do look mighty nice though.
