Rebuilding a 72 LWB in North Texas
Greetings,
I decided to join so I could finally post. I had to give my 2 cents about a tow dolly question in the 68-72 forums. I bought a 72 LWB in Tulsa about a month ago and have inadvertantly had to go through it completely before it hits the road. I have a total of about 2 miles on it myself. It had a 2 barrel carb which I thought wasn't running right, but it ended up being a shot bottom end (no compression, no vaccuum, no power), and a 305 to boot (it was sold as a 350). I completely redid the safety items (brakes, ball joints, and steering), replaced the motor and transmission (built a ZZ5 vortec 350 and bought a remanufactured Muncie M20), but I still feel I got my money's worth because the truck is straight, relatively rust free, and the interior is done (I did the interior of my 79 Camaro and vow not to do that again). Anyways, I've been chronicling my work on my smugmug site, you can see it here: http://thequicks.smugmug.com/Vehicles/303869 |

I actually live in Azle, right on Eagle Mountain Lake. It's hard to admit I'm from Azle, it's much easier to stomach Fort Worth.
