quick sway bar question

i have the option of picking up a 1.25" front sway bar with all connecting pieces off a 78 2wd suburban with the HD package for $40. it sounds like a good deal to me. any comments before i try to buy this thing? thanks for your help

Not a bad price, and it is the thick bar (one tons had these). If you can get the mounting brackets off the a-frames, (bolt ons), and you can get get the two brackets that mound the bar to the frame (note these are riveted and a pain to get off if you don't have the right tools) that all you need to get the the correct size swaybar bushing. Note, www.earlyclassics.com has new frame brackets that are shorter for trucks that have been lowered.

Your a-frames should already have the two holes needed for the brackets, and you may have to remove one rivet per side on the frame to be able to add your frame brackets....

Like John said, if that's the bigger 1-Ton style jump on it for that price.
