Pics of my first Chevy
I've always been a Ford man. Started out with an 87 ranger. Then I went to a pretty sweet 78 f150 4x4. Gas was killing me on the 78, and with no overdrive, cam, holley 4 barrel, and other goodies, it was tough on a part-time pep boys job budget. I always wanted a 73-87 swb 2wd chevy. My father had an 86 a few years ago and many others in his lifetime. I really have been searching high and low. I really wanted silverado trim 87 with fuel injection to save some gas money. On top of trying to find a particular year, I needed to find something relatively clean close to me in Connecticut, which is nearly impossible in New England! 5 min away from my home I saw the black truck you see here. Of course it's an 87, with an all factory 305/700r4, and silverado trim, plus the color I wanted. Has minimal rust. Very solid. I never ad a truck with A/C and luxuries! What a difference! And people who don't know cars/trucks too well are amazed when I tell them it's an 87 and it has power windows and locks. Got it at $2200. What you guys think? Yes, I need to fix that gas tank door.

Re: Pics of my first Chevy
For $2200 you did damn good as long as there's not too much rust.

NICE truck. Last year of that body style, so GM had it pretty much perfected by then. Nice score, any planned mods?

Re: Pics of my first Chevy
Looks like a great buy you have there. I too love the black ones. You also have the sport bumper in rear.

Re: Pics of my first Chevy
Thanks guys, American racing makes those wheels, they are 16''. I love the sport bumper but I do want to eventually mount a trailer hitch to haul a motorcycle trailer. Problem is that spare tire hangs low and blocks access to the frame where a hitch would mount.
