Did I say I was cutting back????
Ive put both my ferd projects in deep barn storage for awhile. I decided I couldnt part with either of em for now...lol. My burbs are now spoken for. So I decided I have room for one I "couldn't" pass up.
67 C10 CST. Its in pretty darn good shape. Has a three speed with overdrive converted to floor shift. Putting it into reverse slams your knuckles into the over drive pull. How does that overdrive work anyway? What does it do? Not sure on the engine yet, Im guessing a 307? I has a little bracket hanging loose with some weird wires on it, anyone know what it is? I also thought the alternator bracket was odd. Two of em put together, bolted at both ends and a piece of hose holding them in the middle. Needs the carb rebuilt. Also the exhaust is crappy. Hardly any rust compared to any of my other trucks. Box is real nice with just a little bit of a crease down low on passenger side where the 6000 gross sticker is. Tailgate is almost perfect. Radiator support is great and so are the fender wells. Cab corners and rockers are super nice with just one rocker starting to show a signs of rust. Ok, blah blah blah...you know all I know about it so far. Im going to use this truck to learn how to weld and paint. Should be interesting |

Re: Did I say I was cutting back????
sweeeeet, a CST with a small back window.
Someone will say it, so I'll do it first..... dude, ditch the gay lookin hubcaps. If original, that'll be a 283, the 307 started in 68. the alt bracket looks cobbeled to me... I'm 99% positive it's supposed to be off the manifold and the arm reaches to the front of the intake That is a sweet lookin truck there Last edited by Longhorn Man; 05-22-2007 at 10:21 PM. |

Re: Did I say I was cutting back????
Those are some bad hubcaps man. The rest of the trucks looks pretty tight.

Re: Did I say I was cutting back????
Looks like a good truck. Oh yeah I think bare steel wheels would look better on there or at least some dog dish hubcaps. That electrical connector on the engine might have something to do with the OD on the transmission. Those 3 spd. OD's have a some kind of governor on 'em, maybe those wires hook up to it? It's gotta be that or the transmission controlled spark switch.

Re: Did I say I was cutting back????
Nice truck...I like it! Get rid of the hubcaps & mirrors. I think you have some really cool 8" wide wheels that will take the stock 67 dogdish hubcaps. They will look great on there.
The OD kickdown switch is the item hanging on the eng. It activates the solenoid and shifts the OD down into normal trans, sometimes referred to as passing gear. I think OD were only available in 67-8. Get it working. They are rare! Get the kid's floor shift out of there and go back to the column shift. |

Re: Did I say I was cutting back????
Very nice 67!!!!
Ya, should be a 283 as only other engine was the 327 and those would be listed on the options sheet. As for the alt brackets, that is very common as I know of 4 67s around me that have the dual brackets. My one buddy who only has one of those brackets, it constantly breaks that one bracket due to vibrations. I willing to bet that the double set up was a dealer fix and the peice of hose ist o help dampen the vibrations.... never seen one with factory overdrive, very cool... |

Re: Did I say I was cutting back????
I wouldn't paint it... JMO. I would bring it down to earth and throw some wheels on it... I like it.

Re: Did I say I was cutting back????
First thing Im going to do is rebuild the carb. The previous owner just put in all new tune up stuff but it still runs like crap. The problem with just dropping it and running it as is, is there are some rust issues I would like to nip in the bud before it gets out of hand. As for how much I paid for it...Lets just say I could sell the buddy buckets out of it and I would have a free truck.
