Cause they were for the 1st gen.

The one you saw is a 2nd gen blazer, also very cool IMO.

It was the last year for the "cool" full-convertable K5. The others are just wanna-bees.

Re: where did i get the idea that 72's were the last year for the fully convertible K5s?

I think 1975 had both 1/2 and full tops. At least I've seen them listed that way. http://reno4x4.com/forum//showthread.php?p=75868
I had a '74 in high school, and it was still a cool full top. East coast rust took its toll on it and I sold it when I came to TX.

Do the doors on the 73-75's have a window frame or are they the same set-up as the 69-72's?

The Ford Bronco's and the Dodge Rams had the frames on the doors. They were the true wanna-be's.

Anyone ever seen the movie Jaws? Chief Brody drove one around the whole time withe the top off. I've always like the 73-75's.

Re: where did i get the idea that 72's were the last year for the fully convertible K5s?

I'ts hard to find the 73-75's in decent shape, I think they rust much worse than the 69-72's. I also hate the full time 203 TC most came with. I wouldn't consider them want to be Blazers, just not as cool as their predessor.
