Shop truck's getting a new chassis
Ok, let me know if I'm crazy. I am used used to doing frame off restos with the original frame, however the freebie 65 flatbed frame and control arms are well "shot". I am also giving up on the 250 IL6 and Granny 4. I just bought an 84 G30 cab and chassis box van. 350, turbo 400 with 49,000 original miles. The box caved in, so the guy sold the whole thing to me for 300.00. I have already removed the box and found the frame to be straight from front to back. Looking at the 65 frame it is straight under the cab portion and the rails are 2 inches narrower than the G30. have any of you helped with or done this kind swap? Any known problems other than the steering gearbox? Thanks for any suggestions. Jerry

Thanks greasemonkey! I've never been accused of being "all there" anyways!
