Re: i hate my truck
How can you hate your truck when you are the one who left it in the rain? Not to be a jerk, but that is like being mad that your dog took a dump on the carpet when you didn't let it outside all day.
I would like to know how rain would get watter in the trans too. Shifting and starting are unrelated systems.

Re: i hate my truck
the only time that happened to me was once my dad was driving his rambler and of course it broke down, he pushed it in a dry creek bed from a low water bridge to pick it up later,, well I got woke up at 3 am to get the tractor, as we all of a sudden had record rain! and that creek bed was full, I opened the car door and water poured out,, the tranny, and inside was soaked, never really ran right since...
with yours, is it a 3 speed column shift? sometimes the linkage can stick and you cant get it to shift, or is a auto? I still dont know how it could happen unless you got lots and lots of rain...

Re: i hate my truck
It must have been in some pretty high water. As for the engine, try spraying some electrical contact cleaner or alcohol in the dist. cap. That will get rid of the moisture, which is what usually causes an engine not to start when it rains. Make sure you let it evaporate before putting the cap back on.

Re: i hate my truck
alright turns out it wasnt water, but it wasn't well lit last night when i determined there was clear liquid on the dipstick. i flushed the tranny and found out the vacuum line fell off the intake, causing engine problems, shifting problems and now it runs better.
