SM465 to TH350 Swap...Help!!!

Hey guys I'm am kind of new to this site and kind of not as I have read many of your posts but have never posted. Anyway I tried to find tech articles on this but haven't found exatly what I'm looking for. I have a 69 2wd 1/2 ton with a SM465 and an I6 292. I have a friend who has a 70 4wd with a
TH350/350. He wants my manual and I want his automatic. What is the process of swapping my 465 for his 350 and what parts do I need to buy to make this happen? Eventually I will swap my 292 for a 350 also but for now I would like to run the 292/TH350. Thanks in advance cause I know you guys have the answers.

His 4wd tranny wont work with your 2wd without changing the tailshafts, etc. The 4wd th350 is different and shorter.Your 4spd wont directly bolt up to his transfer case and he will have to buy a different transfer case to work with the 4spd.You are better off just getting a truck version TH350 or a longer car version TH350 and he is better off buying a 4spd and transfer case that go together.

Changing the out put of the TH 350 means total tear down. unless your a auto trans mech, I agree with 1969k10stepside. Find the correct parts, both of you. You can sell what you have for part of the cost?
