I give up.

Just got some research info from GM. My 70 K5 is one of 1229 produced with the 6 cylinder. I am gonna quit wheelin it, and try to find a better home for it. Manual steering and brakes, along with a 3 speed on the column make for some tough off roading. I still love driving the old girl, just can't afford upkeep on another vehicle.

Re: I give up.

Why don't you just add PS and convert it to a floor shift? I don't think that the numbers on it being a 6cyl increase it's value any more than if it was a well done converstion. The 3-on-the-tree makes for a tough sell to a lot of people. Converting to a floor shift or an auto would probably make it more marketable, thus increasing it's value to both you and any prospective buyers (if you decide to sell).

I agree w/ Bouncy, It's somewhat rare, but not a highly sought after rare.
I wouldn't sell it unless you just have to and or want to, but this is JMHO.

Re: I give up.

Take heart in the fact that they made less than 5000 in '69, and most of us aren't afraid to get them dirty from time to time. I am keeping the column shift but converting/upgrading most of everything else to my liking.

Re: I give up.

Rarity is a relative thing with these trucks. Value comes more from condition and desirable options.
