Another Newbie
Just wanted to say hi to everyone and tell you about my current project a '56 short bed. I bought this a few years ago as an unfinished project that had a 350 TPI / 700r4 with a versailles disc rear and a Gibbons torsion bar front end. The photos are a bit out of date and I'll post some more soon. David

Re: Another Newbie
Thanks for the warm welcome and kind words everyone
The ifs is from Gibbons, the same company that makes the fiberglass hot rod bodies. It uses chrysler torsion bar suspension parts. I've heard good and bad about these. If nothing else it is well made and heavy duty! |

Re: Another Newbie
**********************************************************
Gibbons is a company that makes Hot Rod fibreglass body shells as well as an adjustable IFS cross member. The cross member bolts right into the rivet holes that held the old I beam to the frame. It allows you to bolt in a Chrysler torsion bar suspension that is adjustable for the heigth that you like. This is kool as it avoids cutting your frame to put in a front clip. This also allows you to install your disc brakes at the same time. esll.
