Re: Anybody ever heard of TriPlus? Or used them for sheetmetal needs?

Given a choice,Tri-Plus generally is the better part. This is definately true in outer rockers. And,they are an important piece to have fit.
I don`t believe N.O.S. parts are seconds or made from worn dies. They are the exact same part made right along with the parts that are bolted from factory. If these parts were abundant and available,it would be the absolute best way to go.But,they`re not.I like good used sheetmetal second to N.O.S.I`ve never used aftermarket. That time will come soon enough.
The best thing to do,wherever you look for parts,is ask who made the part and ask about the fit.

Re: Anybody ever heard of TriPlus? Or used them for sheetmetal needs?

has anyone on here used the Tri plus replacement fenders?

We have one for the pass side... simply does not fit..... the back top, where the two bolts go on...... the inner structure is welded in at the wrong position..easy to see the difference when compared to an original fender....
the replacement looks good but.. if it will not fit.. what good is it?
Sure the spot welds could be drilled out and re fitted... but why should we have to do this..

after trying to fit the Tri Plus fender, we took it off and put on an old original 68 fender... it fit right up.... with the usual spacers, this fits fine.....

any suggestions??

Get in contact with the vendor and see if they'll replace it. A lot of these fenders have been sold and used. It's not unusual to see an isolated failure in a manufacturing process.

Here's an article from Truck Builder using those very fenders: http://www.truckbuildermagazine.com/...49EDD04DB2C706

Both front fenders and doors on my truck are tri-plus. I had a hell of a time making them fit, but I did. Fenders are thick and good quality. Doors are a little flimsy and I may someday replace them with OEM doors.

I agree Special K. Man I long for the good 'ol days when this and most all other parts were USA made. I guess the vendors sell whatever is available. I thought that some of the Tabco panels were made here. Probably not anymore.

I'm pretty sure they still are. However; I don't remember them ever making fenders, doors, hoods, rad supports, etc.
