What to offer--- Jimmy

Ok...I'm going off of passed on info so I don't know alot. The jimmy is over a 2 hour drive away so I need to know what y'all think it's worth before I journey up there.I don't know what year it is--I haven't seen it.Its somewhere between a 70-72.It's about 80% there from what I have been told. The hatch, top, roll bar, front& rear axles are there.T-case is there. No motor.Don't know about the tranny.Front buckets and rear seat.I think all the body is there.Northern Indiana vehicle so its rusty. The guy wants $500-600 from what I was told. What do you think it's worth?Sorry there isnt more accurate info.

Assuming the body is rusty and worthless. You're looking at parts. If most of it is there, you can probably part it and recoupe the $500 price tag. I'd probably offer $300-400 and not go over $500.

Re: What to offer--- Jimmy

Kinda what I figured--not over $500.After I see it I'm gonna decide what to offer.I want the seats for my 71 truck is a main reason but I'm gonna keep the rest and put 73+ Blazer bucket seats in the jimmy and eventually restore it or just get it road-worthy.

Re: What to offer--- Jimmy

I agree with bouncytruck on the price range - not running always helps. That might be part of the reason I got my K5 for just $600 or $650 (can't remember which) - it was missing the transfer case and hadn't ran in about 7 years.

X3, $500 is as high as I would go also. Ask him how much? If he says like
$600 then offer him $400, most likely you will be towing it home for $500.

*If you do not buy it get us all of the info for the GMC Production Thread.

Take the time and just find yourself some seats, you'll be money ahead IMO.

A rusty blazer is a money pit, period...no other way to put it.

It's in a junkyard so I might just be able to pull some parts off it,seats included...But rust doesnt scare me....I have an extra front clip, some extra swb bedsides, and doors to replace the rusty ones with if I get it...Just have to hope the tubs worth saving.

Dustin,
If you're going to N Indiana ya should come up and extra 45 min. The guy down the road has one that is complete and running for a grand. Cash will probably make him talk turkey.
