would this be possible
Just found out that the high hump may affect my saginaw 4 speed so would it be possible to cut the hump in the back and make it flush with the floor so that the shifter would not have to travel through the high hump? and if that worked would be affect the fitment of my carpet??

I would say you wouldn't have a problem with that idea. Even though they were originally welded in, you could also look for a beat up cab that has a low hump, cut it out, then bolt the low hump in place of your high hump. Either would work.
