few blazer questions

Just a couple questions as I continue looking for a truck
1. do the blazers and trucks share the same window glass?
2. Has anyone ever adapted a double wall top to bolt from the top?
3. For anyone who has a half top, how close is it to the seat backs?
4. Has anyone ever used a newer steering column in one of these trucks?

Re: few blazer questions

1. YES - Door, Vents, and Windshield are all interchangable

2. No - Have not seen one and would be real difficult to do
But .................... I have never had my side bolts even in.
Just the windshield brackets and rear arm brackets is all

3. N/A - No 1/2 top here (I have given up on finding one)

4. Yes - Just about anything will work with a few mods

5. VTBLAZER is in VT and has what's requested in your siggy

Re: few blazer questions

I suppose it makes some difference exactly what the contour of the inner wall of the top is, but it doesn't seem like it would be too hard. I want a top down bolting, but from the reading I was doing the single wall tops seem to be more cracking prone and are a lot harder to find.

As for 1/2 tops... I suppose I am going to have to do some more research on that one, I'd be doing it custom anyway as I don't like the way the originals were done. Hence the question about the truck windows

steering columns ... I'm going to bite my tongue on that idea until I actually have some more of what I need for this, but I think it will work out nicely

In any event, this is all just a nebulous idea floating around in my head right now and I am trying to solidify some details as I continue to look for the right truck to start with. Of course, I need to free up some garage space too so it will probably be 4 - 6 months before I'll be considering a truck, unless the right one comes along

Windows are the same, but DOORS are not, Blazer doors have no window frame.
(You probably knew that already, put they way you put it I just wanted to clarify)

Don't know what your plans are on the column but I have seen the 73+ columns installed in our years and they look like...

They just look wrong somehow.

Yep, I did know that. I'm more interested in the roof from a truck than the doors, but it would probably only be the back half and the windows and doors won't matter anyway.

and VTBlazer, the column will be a lot newer than 73, although most likely the dash will be changed as well so it might be a moot point
