Pics of my 67 5.5/7
I finally installed my lowering kit. I used 2.5 drop spindles from gmc pauls and 3in springs in the front, with 5in springs in the rear and a 2in block. There was only a 1/2in between the frame and axle, so I ended up raising the rear an inch. These pictures are before I lifted the rear.

Re: Pics of my 67 5.5/7
that is a sweet stance. i love the really low static drops! i did a 21/2 drop spindle with three inch springs in front and a three inch block with a four inch spring in the back...

Looks really good; how does it ride? I'd like to lower mine some more eventually.

Re: Pics of my 67 5.5/7
That's the stance I'm going for as well. I have 3" springs in the front and I'm waiting for some money to fall outta the sky so I can do the dropped disc conversion. In the rear I have 5" springs and 3" blocks.

Re: Pics of my 67 5.5/7
Unless you notch the frame you cant really drive it. (I have pics of the how close the rear is to the frame, but they files are too large)
I am not very impressed with the disc brakes either. I ran them with the metering block for drum brakes and they were OK. Then I installed the proportioning valve from cpp and now it is harder to stop than when it had drum brakes. |

Re: Pics of my 67 5.5/7
My truck has a6cyl, and three speed. If it had a v-8 with an auto, I think it would sit lower in the front.
You cant tell in the pictures, but it is sitting about a 1/2 in lower in the rear than the front. I guess if you switch to disk brakes, you really need to install a power booster to get any real stopping power. |

Re: Pics of my 67 5.5/7
I do have a power booster. I'm thinking my leaking rear wheel cylinder might be contributing to my problem though.

Re: Pics of my 67 5.5/7
That looks *****in'. Too bad the rear needed to be raised up.

Re: Pics of my 67 5.5/7
I may invest in the notch and some different size tires. The fronts are rubbing the inner fenders.
