WHAT KIND OF SMOG EQUIPMENT SHOULD I HAVE?? 76' K5 4x4 w/350

Hi guys I am new here. I just picked up a 76 k5 w/350. It's lifted 8 inches on 38.5" boggers. It still has to be smogged aparently.

The bad news is that it has none of the original smog equipment and I have no idea what it should have. ei. cats, smog pump, pcv???

I have searched and found mixed information on the 1976 model year.

Does anyone here have a 76 that has passed smog in CALIFORNIA ???

Can you tell me which parts I need to get????

I don't have my book at home but--- thermal air cleaner, pcv, charcoal cannister, egr valve + corresponding vac switch, heat riser valve + vacuum switch, depending where the truck was built a smog/air pump. May have a throttle control valve/pod+ the vac/heat valve. AND in sacramento the truck has to run on a dyno. So I doubt that will happen with the 38s on it. I hope you got a reeeeaaalllly good deal on this cuz that is probably why the previous owner was selling it.

Yeah, my brother traded his honda (90 Acura Integra w/b20vtec swap) for it. The guy that owned the truck it could not even afford to drive it let alone get it ready for smog. He needed a 4 door car that was good on gas as he commuted to work. We picked this thing up in Live Oak which is by Yuba City. It needs alot of work but it is what my brother wanted. My bro also has a newer s10 to drive so it won't be a daily drive. We barley ever used the Integra so it knid of worked out. I am just having a hell of a time finding out all of the things we will need to smog it.

Not to state the obvious, but you might try the DMV or the Dept. of Ecology or whoever is responsible for testing in your area.
They should be able to tell you everything.

Here are some numbers if that helps any:

The exhaust emissions from new 1975 through 1978 model-year light-duty trucks having an engine displacement of 50 cubic inches or greater, subject to registration and sold and registered in this state, shall not exceed:
Model Year 1976
Hydrocarbons 0.9
Carbon Monoxide 17
Oxides of Nitrogen 2.0

with all the crap they require... I am surprised that any vehicle enthusiast stays in any state that requires testing (unless of course they make $500K or more per year and can afford a Jag or new limited edition Vette)
