brake lines
i need to purchase hard brake lines for the 67 swb but i am using an 80's truck front suspension
i plan on using a new booster or master cylinder or hydroboost with the attached brake switch thingy and porp valve i have already blasted and painted the frame and all the hardware is stainless question is - who's kit is the best fit? can i use the front or rear sections?should i run my own lines? what size is correct? i have braided sections for the fronts and the single braided for the rear i was planning on using stainless for the looks thanks |

www.inlinetube.com i got all my hard lines from them and had to sent the axle tube lines back because i had a different rear end in mine so just give them a call they can help you out

Definatly inline tube. I just did my crossmember and I used their kit. Splurge for the new clips also. When you buy your brake hoses, buy them for the year of the donor.
Here is what I did. I used a crossmember from a '91 3/4t suburban as a donor for my '70 C20. I am going to use a master cylinder/ booster for the '71-72 model, the lines are ran so much cleaner than on the next generation. I used the rear line set for the '70 and the front set for the '71-72 disc. You will need to modify the end of the lines where they terminate to the hoses. On the next generation trucks the hoses are ran across the front of the upper control arms and attached to the frame through an angled opening. The way that I connected everything was to connect the brake hoses to the frame through the slotted hole just ahead of the crossmember. The brake hose will fit through the hole and can be locked in place with a 9/16" nut. I used a stainless nylon insert jam nut and just snugged it up. The front lines will need to be rebent and a small section removed to line up with the brake hoses. The stainless will flare OK, its just a little tougher to do. When I get a digital camera I will post some pics. This turned out really nice and it looks factory. |
