Black or tan?

I'm ready to order some carpet for the new blazer and I'm not sure what color would work best. I really never learned how to match colors so I thought I see what everyone here thought. Here is a picture of my seats, and most all of the trim, door panels will be same color as the seats. I'm just afraid too light of carpet will get dirty fast, it will be a weekend car not a DD. So what do you think black or tan carpet?

Edit: I am not 100% sure the color of the truck but I am thinking black, white/red two tone or silver.

Re: Black or tan?

I have bought vehicles with black carpet in the past, NEVER would I install black carpet in one. The least little bit of sand sticks out like a sore thumb. I attend many car shows and nothing looks worse than a sweet looking spotless ride sitting there with sand in the black carpet.

IMO, Tan would show less sand and with mats would be less chance of dirt spots under your feet.

Re: Black or tan?

I would avoid the black too, but that is just me. If you get dirty feet, it will really show. I would go with a darker tan color and compliment the interior with it somewhere. Kinda like a 2 tone effect..

Re: Black or tan?

I agree with Chris, I love black, but you talk about showing EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

I had black carpet in the 86, stayed covered up with lint and dirt, and crap.

I just dyed my monte carlo carpet black and it's got crap on it now after vacuuming it last night. Not easy to keep clean but Looks great!!!!!!

it used to be grey as did my entire interior, it looked good then and looks even better all black so I really have no idea lol.

How does the carpet look, feel after being dyed? I was thinking of dying the carpet for right now and putting the money toward something else.

Re: Black or tan?

The carpet is stiff right after dyeing but once you vacuum it, it softens up really nice, or you can brush it with a scrub brush then vacuum it and it'll be very soft like it was before or better.

Here' an after...

and before...

I have alot of other pics, but they are with it in the car, I didn't get any of it out of the car and black except for after the first coat, and in it you can still see the grey. I put like 3 coats on it, covered great, it's what you see in the pictures. Actually covered really good after 2 but I figured what the heck throw on another. I did my seats with the same, front and rear, dash and all the vinyl and flexible parts with it. My door panels are carpet on bottom and they were done with the same.

If you want to se other pics let me know and I'll pm them to you or email whichever works for you.

Or.. you can check out my post in the what did you get done thread, from this weekend. I posted several in there.
