Re: does this look right?

I did not read all the posts, but I disagree with most. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are not using that front crossmember, you just didn't want to cut it out. An auto crossmember WILL AND DOES work perfect for a 4 speed trans mount. You can play with your output shaft height with different trans mounts that bolt to the x-member. You also want some angle to your driveline which is why you have joints. I just went from 250 inline 6 and granny 4 speed to a 460 BBC and a Muncie M-22. I cut out the forward trans mount. CANT USE 6 CYL mounts, Must use BBC. CAN USE AUTO crossmember. My motor has quite a bit of tilt, and the driveline angles up. result......A tire-frying scary ride with ZERO vibration and everthing works perfectl

Re: does this look right?

Mine has the same tilt and has since I bought it. I do have a 1/2 spacer on my tranny mount though. I'm running 6cyl mounts with a 350.

Re: does this look right?

Wow lots of different views and opinions on this one. So far Im told that my motor brackets are 6 cyl and they are V8. Im also told that the motor should be tilted like mine and it shouldn't be? Im told that I want the driveline to angle up slightly and Im told I dont? Also keep in mind that this truck will be going very low in the next too weeks. I need lots of advise on this one guys? I need to get the exhaust pipes rebent around the new crossmember ASAP but I dont want to do it untill its right.

I just answered in another of your posts about the motor towers. The picture that shows the headers and the motor towers shows they are for a V8. The rubber mounts will work for either a V8 or 250 I6. Don't know about the 292. Driveshaft angle?? I'm no expert so someone else needs to correct me if I'm wrong. I researched this a few years ago when I was having problems with a lowered Datsun 620 and what I remember about reducing vibration is that you should have the rear end tilted on the same angle as the centerline of the crank/output shaft.

Re: does this look right?

That angle is a little steep.....just need enough angle to make the carb mounting pad level.

And yes....I know that the level is levling the wrong angle where talking about here, these are the only pics I have relating to what were talking about though.
