ive got my coils in the back cut/heated to give me about a 5-6" drop. but im getting spoiled now and want a smoother ride, it bounces like no other. whats the best way lower the back? just drop coils? i was thinking about putting air bags back there but at a standard pressure, and not messin with all that air up, air down stuff. cuz i know those are a smooth right

You could use some blocks under the axle to lower it.

Umm.....walk slower & it wont bounce so hard!

I think I would go 2" block, & a 3 or 4" drop coil(depending on the drop you want), & also a shock relocater kit & adjustable track bar. A good set of shocks wouldnt hurt either. Good luck...crazy AL

So, heating your rear end (I mean the rear coil springs) will cause it to bounce?

I have lowered mine 4-inches in the rear, and have an adjustable rear track bar, relocated shock mounts and shorter shocks. Of course, my springs were designed to be lower, but relocating the shocks and using shorter ones will help a bunch. The adjustable track bar, or maybe cutting/welding yours to keep the rear end centered thoughout its' working range (don't we like to see those bouncy rear ends stay centered?) will help greatly, but will still bounce more because the heating affected the tensile strenth of the springs.

i lowered my truck about 5 inches by heating the springs. i had alot of bounce also. i bought a set of shocks that were about 3 inches shorter and that helped. i talked to a guy at napa and he helped me find the shocks. funny they were shocks that go on a 4x4.
