inner fender removal
Is it at all possible to remove the innerfender panels without removing outer fender. Hate to take the hard route if there is a trick.

inner fenders are not required, they hold nothing in the front clip together cept battery tray, but not all the bolts of it.

Don't forget the three bolts that parallel the bumper, and on drivers side remove the bracket that is around the steering column. Four bolts there. Have some wd 40 handy.

I have always found it easier if you remove the tire first. Take out all the bolts and remove. Ussally very easy to get out,requires a small amount of wresting to get back in. To get one back in I always use a long alingment punch to line up the holes,and don't tighten any bolts till you get them all started. Have Fun!

But it IS POSSIBLE to remove without removing the outer fender? Will this also give access to the fender C-10 emblems. I'd like to paint my inners and replace the emblems.

Yes it is possible and very easy. But it will not give you much access to the emblems. They are far enough back that the front of the cab is in the way and you cannot get your hand in there. There are two ways to get the emblems off. One way is to use a tappet wrench.[it is just a real long open end wrench] With one of these it is real easy to get them off,but you have to tape the nuts to the wrench to get them back on. I did mine this way and it was not too bad. The other way is to unbolt the bottom of the fender under the emblem and bend it out enough to get you hand in there. A lot of people on here have done it that way. GOOD LUCK!
