Re: What did you get done? 06/03

Well, I had to clean up the truck after attending the Goodguy’s Colorado Nationals over the Weekend. It was a good show and one of the reps said they had ‘bout 2,100 rods registered for the show. They had a good variety of rods as well as some 'other' vehicles.

A local guy here built the 'bigger than life' red wagon. I heard him say that he takes it up in the mountains and drives it.

IMO, one of the nicest rods there was a tangerine 1941 Mercury Coupe. The owner saw me looking it over and started talking to me. He’s a local gentleman that now lives in Phoenix, Arizona. He also brought the builder of the rod with him from Arizona to the Rod show. I ended up talking to him as well for a quite a while. He spent over 2,300 hours working on the car. It’s ‘bout six weeks old. He's done quite of few unique modifications to the car that is very subtle. The fit and finish was perfect. And, the tangerine paints pops even when the sun went behind the clouds. Quite a rod. It has my best of Goodguy’s fab five pick. Hopefully, we’ll read more about it, the owner and builder in a future spread of the Gazette or Street Rodder.

Oh, and the 502 Ram Jet seemed to be a popular ticket for some of the rods. BTW, I spotted another ‘80s Chevy on the other side of the fence. Here’s a few show pics:

Re: What did you get done? 06/03

Replaced rear U-Joints, installed new carpet in cab, resealed an oozing P/S line, and installed some new KC's on my recently acquired 79 LB. Man, am I sore from all that bending and crawling. Next up is adjusting the valves (got a leaky valve cover gasket anyway), complete tune up, LOF, and replace radiator/heater hoses and do a coolant flush. However, that project will wait for a few weeks because I'm getting ready to split town on vacation in about 10 days, and I'm full up on playing mechanic for a while.

Re: What did you get done? 06/03

well, tuesday i sold my 89 mustang, i wrote for sale on my 82 c10, wednesday i bought a 94 ranger, friday i met my church's prospective youth pastor, saturday i woke up to late to go to a swap meet i had planned to go to, so i helped out at a car wash, sunday i worked on getting the gauges fixed, and fixed them, then a guy stopped by and looked at the C10 truck, so i may have it sold, on saturday i also looked at/drove an 83 gt i have known for a while, and gave the kid an offer, i am supposed to purchase it today(monday), so the ranger will be for sale shortly

Cleaned out the garage since my son moved his truck out, and began installation of a dishwasher at my other sons house. Also kept staring at the truck seat picture that cochino12 bought for 150 bucks, how come i can never find a deal like that.

Re: What did you get done? 06/03

well I had to check the front end out on the 84 today, and had it out friday and it acted up badly. So I didn't go anywhere this weekend. I stayed home finishing up on my monte carlo so we'd have something to drive.

On the car I gutted it to go from grey interior to black, took everything out, dyed it all black.

Re: What did you get done? 06/03

I spent this weekend pulling of the TBI from my Suburban that I have been trying to troubleshoot. I decided to rebuild the TBI and after pulling it off found the Fuel Pressure regulator spring broken into 3 pieces. Pulled out the spare and it was broken also. I am trying to find a replacement from GM now.....
