Wazz-Up?

Who's doing what this year?

I did a hidden winch with a stock bumper for the last mod...

Anybody else being creative?

Nice mod,it looks alot better with the stock bumper,IMO...Right now I'm just trying to get mine running...Got the transfer case (205) bolted in and now I'm running all new brake lines.Hopefully the mild 350 and auto tranny go in this weekend or next...Then some rust issues will be adressed.
I'm a little farther behind (no front bumper period!)

I like the set up. How did you mount between the frame rails? Electric, right?

Re: Wazz-Up?

I like your custom winch cradle, you must have your own tubing bender.

I just finished rebuilding my dana 60 and am in the middle of installing the ORD "FUSH" kit along with there greasable shackles and high crossover steering. I got my tubular engine cradle painted tonite and hope to have it installed by the weekend.

Re: Wazz-Up?

I just tried my hand a welding aluminum. Made a new shroud. Don't know if it'll work alright, I havent driven the truck with it yet.
What'cha think. Will it work OK or do you think I should put holes above and below the fans.

Sweet shroud!! I'd cut holes and cover them with a hinged flap. That way they will blow open when on the highway but the fans will keep 'em closed when idling in traffic....

[QUOTE=vtblazer;2206698]Who's doing what this year?

Since I finished the front D60 swap I've accomplished a bunch of nuthin' on the Blazer. I've been focused on getting my one-ton camper van ready for camping season.

Re: Wazz-Up?

Nice idea on the flaps for the shroud. I have seen them made of rubber. Should be E-Z to do.
Thanks

Re: Wazz-Up?

One more thing done on the bumper.

Got the recovery points/tow hooks finished up.

Bar stock welded directly to the frame horns w/removable shackles.

Working on a new set of rock sliders now.

I like the new recovery mounts, but was wondering why you chose to weld them, rather than drill for bolts? A pair of 1/2" or larger bolts with a backing plate would have been as strong or stronger than the clasp that the strap hooks to, so they would not be the weakest link. Oh wait, I think I figured it out. No room with the winch back there, right?

And when you get your new rock sliders built, want to send me your old ones? Please.

Came down to simplicity really, was WAY easier to weld on the bar stock compared to trying to drill through it.
(your also correct about space around the winch = zip)

2nd reason was that it ties the frame horns to the frame in yet one more point.

sure you can have the old sliders, about 60/70lbs a side...what's your shipping addy?

I saw on some of the pictures that the front frame pieces were welded back in. So that makes sense. As far as shipping those beasts, hmmm, maybe make them out of aluminum next time.

Re: Wazz-Up?

I like it looks good are you going to add a prerunner style grill guard over the bumper. I was thinking about going to a prerunner style with the origanl bumpers but now Im going to make new bumpers to make up for the body lift I have to use to get room to clear the new drive train.

Re: Wazz-Up?

Nice Mods, came out sweet. I'd settle for some pics of the rock sliders if you ever get a moment when your not working on your truck... J.
