header repair
if you saw my previous post you saw the headers I got for free and how they cleaned up BUT there is a downside. one pipe is crushed about half the diameter near the collector (see pics) I think they are still better then the ones I have now.(very dented up) but anything I can do to help it out, it is on an unseen side so that is not a really big concern.

I know for TPI they have different size balls you con force through the tubes to get dents out.
You might want to try something like that.

it looks like a fairly straight run of pipe that got dented.. maybe just cut that chunk out and fit a little piece in... may be hard to weld though... just a thought

Heat dent with a torch and then cool it with a wet rag. This will shrink alot of it out. What's left will not make enough differance that you will be able to tell in performance.

This is caused because of the header is hanging too low below the frame. Mine are like this and I've had it. I'm thinking of getting a set of headers from Early Classic. THese headers are designed for 67 to 72 trucks not a one style fits all.

i think youd be able to cut that out and put in a new piece of pipe, and if needed you can use your crappy headers to get pieces of pipe from to fix the new ones

if you run shorty or 3/4 length headers you might aswell run manifolds, full length headers are the ones that do more than just look good

And this was caused because this truck was totalled and the front driveshaft snapped and slapped the s**t out of the header. (was on a 4x4) mine is not low enuf to drag the headers not yet anyway.

you really wont notice any performance decrease by running them the way they are// to me it wouldnt be worth the effort on a driver

I had a set on my olds that was dented like that, I put it in the vise, heated the dent up with a torch, then took a 1/2" steel rod with a slight bend in it to push the dents out from the inside. it ook a little while but when done you couldn't even tell
