Engine Harness

I just bought a new engine harness and can't figure out a couple of the wires. I have the pink wire to dizzy, the two for the starter, and one running towards the brake booster all figured out, but there are three more wires (can't remember all the colors, ones blue) that I don't know where they go. I can only guess that they're for the AC, but I thought it ran off another harness.

So, does anyone have a diagram for the engine harness?

Thanks.
Ronnie

Are they the kickdown wires for the TH400? Knowing the colors will help.

Re: Engine Harness

99% sure the blue one is the oil dummy sender. one of the others might be the water temp dummy sender.

knowing the colors of the other wires is the only way i can help other than that.

Re: Engine Harness

I'll have to look this weekend, I'm still working on the truck a couple hours drive away, so only work on the weekends. I wasn't smart enough at the time to write down the colors.

Re: Engine Harness

Thanks, that helps a lot. I have mechanical temp and oil pressure, so that answers two of the unknowns. I noticed that there wasn't a wire going to the dizzy in the diagram . This could be a stupid question (won't be my first or last), but what is the item that is labeled "backing LP.SW. Conn.? It has a black 18DG and a green 18LG running into it.

Thanks.

Re: Engine Harness

It looks like it could be the power to the main light on circuit board behind the instrument cluster. Only one of the lights has a wire going to it. The rest are in series connected by the copper wire in the circuit board or what ever it is called. I am about 85% sure, if I am wrong maybe some one else can clear it up.

Re: Engine Harness

It could also be for the Licence plate light in the back. Now I am 50% sure.....LOL
