I would like to install power steering and disc brake axles on my 67 3/4 ton. what year steering box will bolt into my 67. I have a 84 1/2 ton parts truck, will this year power steering box fit? I would like to keep it a 3/4 ton so i don't think I will use the axles from this truck. thanks for any imput. Rick

You will need to add spacers or dimple the frame to use a power steering box on it.For discs,you can get a conversion kit from Blackbirds,IIRC

its way cheaper to just get a d44 front from a newer truck it will bolt right in only thing need to change is brake lines .here is a good post hor the power steering http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=227960 we should get Krue or some one to add this to the tech write ups it has links to all the post with pics of diffrent ways to do the power steering convertion in it.

Did the 67's not have dana 44's?

Yes but until 1971 they didnt have disc brakes and until 1970 they had closed knuckle front dana 44s.1970 was the transition year to open knuckle axles,but they kept the drums till 71.67s had a different type of power steering and in 67-68 the frames werent "dimpled" for the power steering boxes

I heard that GMCPauls has a conversion kit to fix the "non-dimpled" frames like my 68. Not only is it missing the dimple but it doesn't have the raised pads either.
