71 GMC control arm interchange
While changing ball joints I found that my lower control arm is worn. The nut on the control arm shaft fits loose and no longer threads into the control arm.
I assume 71 and 72 are the same because of the disk brakes, but do any other years interchange? This is RH side on a 71 GMC 1/2 ton 2wd. I probably should have posted this under suspension. Maybe a mod could move it. Thanks. Last edited by bullwinkle; 06-15-2007 at 06:54 PM. |

Re: 71 GMC control arm interchange
67-72 should work as long as it's a 1/2 ton. The ball joints will be different, but a/arm should be the same.

Re: 71 GMC control arm interchange
What about anything newer? There aren't many 67-72's in wreckers around here. Lots of 73 and up.

Re: 71 GMC control arm interchange
The 73 and ups have different shaft bushings. Not sure if they mount to the xmember the same or not though.
