20/22" wheel info needed, im sorry.. i know

asked this in the 67-72 specific, but here goes:

I know.. i know, another f'n wheel question, and i really hate to do this but i FINALLY found the perfect wheels for my project, but am slightly confused of what some of this means, and want to be 120% sure these will fit before i order. Specs of the truck will be bolt-in bag setup, bolt in c-notch, and i'll be keeping the stock inner fenders, and keeping the stock bed tubs.
Now for the wheel specs:
front will be 20x8.5" and wheels come in different configurartions
What is the "offset" these wheels are offered in either 15mm or 40mm offset, what exactly is this? Backspacing offered is either 5.3" or 6.3"

Now for the rear.. wheels will be 22x9.5" and are offered in 15mm or 42mm, backspacing 5.3" or 6.4"

SO... WHAT WILL FIT AND WORK BEST??

I've searched for over an hour, and i am sorry to post up one of these threads.. just looking for info , thanks guys!!

Back spacing and off set are what will keep you from hitting your inner fenders and the outside edge of your inner fenders. Also will keep you from hitting your steering components. Unfortunately it seems like tire specs are some kind of black magic, not many want to help, this is what I found when doing asking about my own rims. If you have the cash 80 dollars jegs and summit sell a tool that bolts to your spindle and will spin around so you can see where your problems spots are and tells you exactly what backspacing and offset you need. You could probably make your own also. It works for tires from 15 to 30" dia.

Offset is the measurement from the center of the rim to the hub ,typically in MM.Backspacing is from the hub where it bolts to the spindle to the back edge of the tire, typically in INCHES, go figure. I have a few links some with calculators to get a better answer.

I have a 89 burb with 22X9.5, 18+MM offset that will tuck perfectly when I get around to droping it to the street.

Wheel offset and backspacing are basically the same thing, but they are measured two different ways. You can find one IF you know the other ... kinda like Trigonometry.

Offset is the amount the center of the rim is mounted in relation to the center of the rim ... NOT the front edge.

Offset:

Backspace:

Which wheel are you looking at? The wheel you are looking for is designed for the 88-98 chevy trucks and the new Jk Jeep (Four door-they run high positive factory). The 22x9.5's will work up front in +15, but will look better in standard (0 offset). Definately not in rears. Don't get me wrong, they will bolt on and roll down the road, but will look gay and be 3-4" from outer fenders and may not clear frame/bed very well...I would go with -25 (reversed offest) in the rear with at least a 9.5 inch wheel. If you are bagging this truck and don't plan on cutting the wheel wells, don't plan on laying frame with anything short of small 18's that will also look gay...If you do go with 22's in rear, and 20's up front, go with 2853022 and 2453520 as they are the smallest tires that don't look gay on these trucks. Any more q's you can reach me at support@hickmantires.com

If you've got a disc conversion up front, the 5.3" backspacing should be fine. I'm running 5.25". Out back you'll need spacers like I suggested in my PM to you. You can always order custom offset wheels, but be prepared to break the bank.

thats the thing, im not looking to spend $3000 for a set of "custom" wheels... i'll go w/the spacer in the rear like you suggested 67fleet, i think your wheel setup is killer!

Here is another site for explanation of "offset", "fitment" and such.
http://www.therimsite.com/wheelfaq.html
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoWheelOffsets.dos
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offset_%28wheel%29

And here is a tire diameter calculator
