Sand Blasting Wheels
I have a set of wheels that are not for my truck but for one of my cars. You all remember Keystone Classics? Well they are rusty. They are a two part wheel if I remember right? The majority of the wheel is aluminum and the outer portion is steel which is chromed. Has anyone ever had success with sand blasting them and then just painting them with a rustoleum primer then just flat black? I figured they would be different looking. And for all you Ford haters, it is for my Mach 1. At least it is old. A 71.

I had a set of craiger ET's I sandblasted in my driveway with a 20.00 siphon blaster. the rusty chrome took a looooong time. when they were all done though they turned out good

as long as youre carefull and dont use anything to aggresive the aluminium should be fine

Corn, I'm not as old as you  I actually put them on a 99 Yugo Dodge After you said that I did some pic hunting online, they look like whats on this van, but the spokes were white. My dad bought them new in the late 60's and gave them to me in the early 90's... They had ET on the centercaps, he told me they were Crager ET's

Should be able to tape off the aluminum and keep it from getting blasted.I would suggest you look at what those wheels are worth before taking the blaster to them.They are from the same era as Cragars.
