58 Dash Replacement

Just picked up a '58 Apache 31. Mostly all there. Planning to put her back together almost original. Probably the worst problem so far is that the PO cut a larger hole in the dash to put in a radio. Is the metal dash available and how is it mounted?

Call brothers and order their radio patch panel. It's an easy fix and you don't have to take out the whole dash to fix it.

Re: 58 Dash Replacement

Thanks! I haven't gotten catalogs from anyone yet. Who is the best or does it depend on what you want. I have a '71 Vette and '66 Mustang already.

Re: 58 Dash Replacement

That looks great! Is that a replacement panel or all new dash panel? BTW, how do I post pics from my computer. I have them in my memory, not on photo bucket or such?

Re: 58 Dash Replacement

If you don't use "Photobucket" you'll need to to re-size them to fit the forum. If you plan on posting pics on any forum, "Photobucket" or something similar is much easier as they store and re-size them for you.

Re: 58 Dash Replacement

thanks. It's a just a radio patch panel available from any of the old Chevy truck parts vendors, Brothers, Chevy Duty or whatever they're called now, Truck Shop, CPP etc. They also have a streetrod type panel that smooths everything on the dash. There are people here who have done that too. This truck has gone thru so many variations and still not done it may never get done.

As to posting pics on here, I just hit "manage attachments" and follow the the directions. I'm a lot better at building things than at this computer stuff.

Here's a pic during install.
