Brown Truck arrived with Gas Filler supplies!
After long long thought and tired brain I am putting in my re-located gas fill. Overton's Marine sent me the pop up deck fill (1 1/2") got parts to go from 1 1/2" to 2" from Murray's Supply, Midway Auto sold me the 90 degree Gates 1 1/2" fuel fill hose and the stout GoodYear 2" hose (From Checker Auto Parts) to my FuelCellGuy tank which has a 2" opening.
OK plans for surgery through the bed floor...now! http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...w&i=72502&aID=

Bet your glad to finally get your parts....good luck on the work ahead! Post some pics of your progress. Will this be a flush mount in the bed?

Re: Brown Truck arrived with Gas Filler supplies!
No. Because I want the 90 degree bend up tight against the underside of the bed I am going to fab up a box to cover the 6" or so of the 1 1/2" Gates angled hose. It will make for better flow too.

Show some pics of the fuel tank inlet & your layout of the filler inlet when you get it mocked-up. I was looking @ those marine inlets/caps last night while searching for the large dia fual hose. They're pretty cool & stainless to boot!

Re: Brown Truck arrived with Gas Filler supplies!
Ok...no turning back. Measured and stabbed the the two inch hose. I will have to cut it down a bit when the 1 1/2" angled hose comes through, but this shows me the straight shot and where to drill the hole. So I drilled a starter hole and then got a 1 5/8" hole bit to drill down through the flawless Lil' Red bed.

Here is my fabbed up filler hose. I had to cut 2 3/4" off the smaller hose and a 12" piece of 2" hose connects to the 2" FuelCellGuy tank. Pipe dope for the final assembly....then to fab up a small metal box to cover the 6" of hose that comes up through the bed floor. Next is to fab up a metal box.

Re: Brown Truck arrived with Gas Filler supplies!
This bed floor is why I agonized so much about cutting a hole in it for my fuel fill. I'm over it now, fill is going to be nice.

Re: Brown Truck arrived with Gas Filler supplies!
Is your tank vented anywhere? I think you might have trouble filling it if it is not. Since you are going to build a box around the hose that extends through the bed you could bring the vent up and tie it in just below the fill cap. I learned through experience when I changed a tank and didn't have a good enough vent it spit about a gallon of fuel back at me when I was trying to fill it.

Re: Brown Truck arrived with Gas Filler supplies!
Tank is vented. FuelCellGuy tank...come on'...LOL! But good idea to run the vent hose up into the fabed up box cover.
