Hi their new member here. I have a 77 2wd blazer and I'm buying a 74 4wd full convertable tub and top from a friend for almost nothing. I was wondering what would be easier...
puting the 74 tub on my 2wd frame (do I have to modify anything)
or
choping the top on my 77 and graffting the 74 parts
What would be easier?

By the way sweet truck I just hope my blazer will look that sharp when its done!
My blazer is originally Black so I'm going with the original color. The Interior was blue giant houndstooth but that will be red letherette instead.

You should be able to swap bodies directly from one to the other. The floorpan didn't change until 1978. Honestly, it is probably easier to swap the bodies than it is to cut the roof, if they both are solid. There are reinforcements on the 74 body that are not reproduced called rocker boxes that make a huge difference in the rigidity of the body with the roof removed. That being said, you could also swap the 77 tub on the 74 frame and sell your extra parts off that way as well.

The body on the 74 had the quarters cut out (it was going to be a rock crawler) the firewall smoothed, no doors, no frame just tub and top. Would I still have flex problems even if its a 2wd and slammed with bags?

My last Blazer was a 77 with the roof cut. It wasn't terribly bad as far as flex goes, but there was some. If you could reinforce the rockers somehow, it would help a lot.

The other question I almost forgot to ask is,
Are the body mounts the same on a 2wd blazer compared to a 4wd?
Most parts catalogs don't specify a difference between the two.
Could I just drop the 4wd body on my 2wd frame with out any mods to the frame?
